Elephant https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant Thu, 17 Sep 2020 20:22:41 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.8.9 What can we do for Elephants? https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/what-can-we-do-for-elephants/ https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/what-can-we-do-for-elephants/#respond Thu, 09 May 2019 06:55:53 +0000 http://elephant.local/?p=5558 So, what can we do for elephants in 2019?

First of all don’t support unethical elephant operations. These include elephant riding, buying elephant paintings, buying ivory, going to a Circus where elephants or other animals are forced to perform or even going to the Zoo.

Proactively we can do a lot. From signing petitions and donating to elephant conservation organisations ( like the two I mentioned above ), volunteering, visiting ethical elephant sanctuaries or fostering and therefore supporting elephants to simply explaining your friends why elephant riding or buying ivory is unethical. Every petition signed, every dollar donated and every informed friend counts.

Building a better future with care & love for elephants https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/building-a-better-future-with-care-love-for-elephants/ https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/building-a-better-future-with-care-love-for-elephants/#respond Thu, 09 May 2019 06:54:05 +0000 http://elephant.local/?p=5556 Do you know that every 15 minutes one Elephant is senselessly killed just for their tusk? That leads to more than 30 000 Elephants a year killed for nothing more than a human greed.

Some might say that “they are just animals”, but they are much more like us than you might think. They have the ability to grieve, they are altruistic and will protect the vulnerable. Elephants can be left-handed, gay and as widely known they have really amazing memories. We can help and protect them by really just being what we dare to call ourselves…human.

Freedom https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/freedom/ https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/freedom/#respond Thu, 09 May 2019 06:51:20 +0000 http://elephant.local/?p=5554 We humans like freedom, but wild animals love freedom too. Wild animals belong to the wild. They don’t belong in a circus. Zoo’s can be educational and bring humans closer to animals, but are often badly maintained and provide poor living conditions.

Love for Elephants https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/love-for-elephants/ https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/love-for-elephants/#respond Wed, 08 May 2019 06:56:54 +0000 http://elephant.local/?p=5560 When you learn just how similar elephants are to us humans, how powerful yet gentle, how intelligent, social and caring, then you notice that they actually possess all of humans’ best qualities and not many of the bad. There is a lot that we could learn from them, but somehow we choose to ignore it and think we’re the “know it alls” on this planet.

Help Elephants in Thailand https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/help-elephants-in-thailand/ https://anarieldesign.com/themedemos/elephant/help-elephants-in-thailand/#respond Tue, 07 May 2019 06:59:34 +0000 http://elephant.local/?p=5564 In Thailand there is a little lady with a big heart called Lek Chailert. In 1996 she founded Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai with a goal to rescue as many captive elephants from Thailand’s trekking camps, street begging and tourist shows. To make elephants do what they do for tourists they are stolen from their mothers as babies, then beaten and tortured from an early age and in the end they lead miserable lifes in chains.

For such an intelligent and social creature that is a nightmare. Lek tries to give them a life that resembles their wild lifes as much as possible. Considering the ever growing lack of wild habitat in Thailand and the fact that these elephants never really had a chance to learn to live in the wild that is the best that can be done.
